Several years ago, we thought that our youngest daughter might have a lactose problem. We were advised to take her off of all dairy. The only problem was that she came home from school to the shop each day and had a scoop of our traditional chocolate Ice Cream. Our challenge was to create a dairy free chocolate as dense and rich for her as our traditional style.
Dairy-free ice cream does not contain any dairy ingredients and we make it with a base of coconut milk. Rather than using gums or emulsifiers found in most ice creams we make an orange syrup from scratch which gives the dairy free ice cream its sweetness and creamy texture.
Our dairy-free ice cream can be a great option for those who are lactose intolerant, vegan, or simply looking to reduce their consumption of dairy products. Our most popular flavours are chocolate, Ontario strawberry and vanilla.
