While traditionally Limoncello is an Italian Liquor native to the Southern Regions of Italy delicious all on its own, we couldn’t help but think that the syrupy, citrus elixir would make an excellent match with dark chocolate.
Since there is no Organic Limoncello readily available (if at all) we discovered that a variation on Limoncello could be easily obtained by infusing Organic Vodka with Lemon zest. While our take on this infusion has no added sugar, the infusion only takes a few weeks and provides the same punch sans syrup in a chocolate.
The same recipe can be repeated with most citrus and is an excellent side to any cocktail over the Holidays. But a good infusion takes a few weeks so you would need to start now for best results.
